ABOUT LAKE STOCKTON

Beautiful Lake Stockton was formed in the early 1970’s as a U. S. Corp of Engineers flood control Lake for the Sac and Little Sac rivers. Soon after the lake was opened for public use, the Lake Stockton Yacht Club was formed. Over the years the club has grown to over 250 members and is one of the largest yacht clubs in the State of Missouri.

The mission of our club is to promote the art of sailing through a creative blend of social, education, informational and competitive activities.

By virtue of the lay of the lake, the prevailing winds and topography, Lake Stockton has been listed by Sailing magazine as one of the 10 best sailing lakes in the U. S. We offer a full complement of social and racing activities. The signature event for LSYC is the annual Governor’s Cup regatta held in September of each year. The Governor’s Cup draws sailors from through out the Midwest and offers exciting racing as well as fun social events. We hope you will visit Lake Stockton and see for yourself the beauty of the lake.
