Our Cups Runneth Over, Even When the Shrimp is Well Trimmed

Updated: Mar 21

Lots of folks to thank, lots of stuff to do! Stick with me for a second or two…..

First of all, how about Al Declerq from North Sails? Fresh off of winning the Chicago- Mac race (In the boat his dad built back in 1963) he came here from Detroit to help us with sail trim! We had 25 people attend his class and I know I learned a lot!

And check out the

Thanks to Zach Bonebrake for bringing us into this century with a mobile friendly site, built from the ground up, that we can build upon, and for hosting this site (for free)!! Thanks Zack!

Or Greg and Teresa Morer? They took care of the arrangements for Al, AND hosted their very popular Shrimp Boil. These two know how to throw a great weekend! Thank you!

Or Gretchen and Paul for running the races in that BEAUTIFUL weather? Thank you!

What’s next?

Sept 24- Cruiser’s Cup! That’s right, this one is for all members and is a race. Flip Cooper is running this one and will determine the course when he has a better idea of what the Wind Gods have in store for us.

Sept 30-Oct 2- 42nd Annual Governor’s Cup Regatta! The largest sailboat race in Missouri! Here are some highlights:

(And this is all available on the website)

Friday registration and G-cup wearable purchases. Saturday races. Saturday night dinner and dancing in the Orleans Trail Conference Center. Back by popular demand: Live music from Vic Vaughn and Souled Out!

Sunday holds more racing action and the awards ceremony.

For those of you who have someone participating, but would like something else to do on Saturday afternoon, the town of Stockton is having it’s Art Fair

Over and out from Lawrence, KS

B-arr-y Nelson, Commodore (there is still a little pirate in me)

S/V Sweet Jade, Driftwood, and a bruised Jezibel

(the website is kind of a soft launch, we will be adding content and functionality over the next few months, keep an eye on it and tell your friends)

(We are ready for Gov Cup! The t shirts and hats look cool, the food is ordered, the trophies are on the way, the band has committed and Paul and I are sweaty)

(Jezibel is in good hands and will be back from Lawrence soon, thanks to all of those who have been asking)

(See what I did there with the subject line? I’d call that clever. Some would disagree. They’d have a point….)
